5 Ways to Feel Great

Do you want to feel great? Sure! Who doesn’t? But feeling great is not a constant in life. There are days when you feel amazing, and there are days you feel like something like nasty on the bottom of someone’s shoe. Ups and downs are simply a reality of life, inescapable even though uncomfortable.

Another reality of life is that it’s busy. Think about your day. How many things do you do? When I think about my day I sometimes wonder how I make it through at all. In fact, sometimes I feel ready to go back to bed when I am walking out the door to get my day started. So how do you keep feeling great when tired, anxious or otherwise just not feeling it?

Drink Water

We all know, in theory, how important it is to drink water. But I also know tons of people who say they don’t drink enough water. I used to be one them, although I think I likely did a better job than a lot of others. However, I did make it a goal some years back to drink more water on a regular basis. And ever since then, I’ve noticed that if I don’t drink enough water I start to feel really tired. As soon I get hydrated though, I feel so much better. It really is the most amazing feeling to be hydrated.

Get Dolled Up

All you ladies know how great you feel once you smack on some lip gloss. The act of putting yourself together makes you feel more confident and able to face the day. Make up has always made me feel beautiful, and although I don’t always wear it, those days when I feel blah and take some time to doll up, it makes the biggest difference in how I am feeling.

Laugh

Laughter is the best medicine. We need more laughter in our lives. Children laugh so readily and as we age, we laugh less. But laughter is proven to get you feeling great so throw up your favourite sit com, or comic or call up a friend who is just hilarious and get laughing.

Eat Breakfast

Honestly, eat your breakfast. This meal is way too important to skip, and starting with a healthy meal is so good for your body that you feel it all day long. Eat something with protein, fat and some good carbs too. Peanut butter on toast is good, so is a scrambled egg with avocado toast. Oatmeal and eggs is also not a bad choice.

Put Your Phone Away

Decide on a time when your phone goes away and stick to it. Scrolling through posts and social media constantly is not a healthy habit. It messes with our sleep patterns, causes levels of anxiety to increase and does not allow you to truly engage with friends and family–some of whom might even be the room with you! Instead, call a friend, play a game with your loved ones, or read a good book.

I’m Looking For…

Let's Connect: Instagram

It’s Friday!!!
Today, I loved myself by working out. I hate exercising. It’s hard, it’s sweaty, it hurts and I just don’t enjoy it. But I am trying to make it part of my lifestyle. And working out was me loving myself.
Well, fall is here! The leaves have started turning where I am and the temps are cooling. Fall is my favourite season so I’m super excited for the days ahead!
Something you may or may not know about me is I love crocheting. I’m always trying to learn more and crocheting and challenging myself.
It’s the weekend! It’s been so long since I’ve had a self care weekend, but this weekend I might be able to go just that. We sold our condo and now we can relax at home, read books and look forward to the next chapter of our life.
Friends, my life has been stressful lately. But, it’s looking up. Abd I’m determined that in this next chapter, I’m going to create the home of my dreams #tidbitsofcare #lifeisgood #bloggerlife #bloggerstyle #lifestyleblogger #newchapterinlife #onlygoodvibes✨ #selfcareblog #homedecorinspo #visionboarding #manifestingmagic

I love your suggestion on getting dolled up to feel good! I put my favorite pair of wedges today just because wearing them made me feel happy. I love the clicking noise good shoes make on the floor, and I had just mopped. 🙂

Oh, shoes are the perfect touch I think! Like your lipstick. They just make you feel like the cat’s a** LOL

Drinking water, putting my phone away, breakfast and laughing are all fabulous ways to feel great! I don’t wear much make up so I’d have to substitute spending time in my garden instead. Lovely tips, Giulia, thank you 🙂 Lisa

I don’t know what I’d do with myself if I put my phone away, I use it to keep myself busy to avoid my dark thoughts

I totally relate about getting dolled up! If I’m ever feeling particularly rubbish one day and I have the time, I always spend longer on my makeup and getting ready in general and try to think about nothing other than the process of getting ready while I’m doing it and it always makes me feel a bit better than when I started. I’ve been really good at drinking water for years now but I never used to drink any at all. My poor body must have hated me! x

Oh gosh, drinking water! I totally know what you mean, I feel like I’m failing on this one big time. The dolling up is sooo important in my opinion. I love feeling pretty LOL

I miss getting dolled up – it just doesn’t seem worth my energy though when most days I am home alone
