List the rules and display the “Ideal Inspiration Blogger Award” logo.

What is your favourite meal, and why?

This is such a hard question for me because I have so many meals that I really enjoy. I think the best way to answer this question is to say that my favourite meals are ones that are savoury and include a variety of textures such as falafels with hummus or curries with rice. I just love the herbs and spices mixed into those meals and the explosion of flavour I experience makes eating so satisfying.

What is a moment in your life you are proud of?

The moments in life I am most proud of were also hard moments, or a crossroads in my life. When I moved out on my own was such a moment or when I changed jobs three years ago was such a moment. Both times, they were hard decisions but have been the best things I have done for myself and so I am proud I had the courage to make those changes even though they were scary and hard.

What is your favourite childhood memory, and why?

When I was very little, my dad used to make up fairy tales to tell me. I loved those stories so much, and there was one or two he told me over and over again. Those are my favourite memories because it was so soothing listening to my dad tell me those stories and because I was so young, there is still a magical quality connected to them.

What is your favourite family tradition?

Traditions are so interesting because they do change over time and I have seen my family traditions change from childhood till now. I suppose a favourite tradition of mine is enjoying a family meal together. It’s something we do often, but I have realized that what was common place for me was not so common place in other families, and so I’ve learned to value those gatherings, especially during self isolation.

Why do you write?

I started writing when I was very young, imitating some of the tween books I was reading, and I kept writing well into my teens and early twenties. I always felt there was a story to tell, but I was also discouraged a lot, for a lot of different reasons and throughout my life I have returned to writing again and again to express my thoughts, feelings and to connect to the world. This blog is about helping others, but I do that through writing, and I feel like my writing can touch and help others and helping others has always been important to me.

My Questions for Nominees

What is something you are fearful of, and why?

List some favourite blogging tools and why you use them.

What is something normally celebrated by society that secretly offends you, and why?

What is your favourite season and why?

What is your favourite hot beverage?

My Nominees

Rayo from The Alycone, a blogger who shares her knowledge about skincare, and other health related topics. She is super nice and helpful and her posts have helped me learned a lot of natural ways to care for my skin.

Lisa from Lisa’s Notebook. Her blog is a bit of everything and I love all of it. Her posts about her garden delight me, and make me jealous and I just really love checking out her blog.

Sophie from Glow Steady. Her recipes make my mouth water, and her blog is so pretty. I love blogs that make you feel at peace when you’re reading their content and Sophie’s does that.

Amie from The Curvaceous Vegan. She shares a lot of content–beauty, mental health posts, and a lot her posts have gotten me thinking. I love the look of her blog, and I love that her posts are so honest I can really relate to her.

Bethany from Adventure and Anxiety. She is always kind to me and her blog is super pretty. And it covers so many topics that there is a little bit of something for everyone.

In Conclusion

I’m so happy to have been nominated, and I hope you’ll check out some of these blogs as they are wonderful written by amazing people. It was great to get to share some more about myself too.

Today has been a wonderful, quiet day—after all the cleaning was done that is. I cherish quiet days. It’s nice to just melt into them and enjoy the sense of peace that comes with them. I love to read, or crochet on quiet days, or watch the baby as he plays. Who else loves quiet days? #tidbitsofcare #peacefulday #selfcaresunday🌸 #quietdayathome #lifestyleblogger #blog #selfcareblog #timetoreflect🙏
I really want to see green things and flowers again. We had a mild winter until March hit, then snow and wind and rain. I know it’ll be a while till I see green and springs blooms, but who says I can’t indulge in spring like things? Or delight in the longer days? It’s spring in my mind today. When life gets too blah, your imagination can really lift your spirits! Do you imagine warmer days, upcoming vacations or yummy dinners? #tidbitsofcare #selfcareblog #bloggerlife #springiscoming #spring2023☀️ #springtime🌸 #lifestyleblogger
Yesterday I ran errands and did some housework but I also got on me time and got my nails done. I’ve been doing more light, neutral shades lately. They just feel more me and more elegant. But if I’m in the mood, I splash into colour too! It’s all about just being myself. Because it’s okay to just be me ☺️ #tidbitsofcare #personalgrowth #selflove #selflovemoments #blogger #lifestyleblogging #bloggers #selfcareblog #bloggerlife #bloggerstyle
Life needs living. But each moment doesn’t have to be a blur. Take time to just be. It’s easier than you think! #tidbitsofcare #selfcareblog #personalgrowth #bloggers #blogging #blogs #bloggerlifesyle #bloggingcommunity #mindfulness #mindfulmonday #mindfulnessmoments
I try to live my best life everyday; be the best mama I can be, but also enjoy the little things, like these. My mother used to tell me and my sisters stories, and we still have so many of the story books she told stories from, though the way she changed the stories and made them her own is something that stuck with me and inspired me to tell my own stories. I started out re-writing fairytales.

It is often strange how our traditions change, or maybe we do not even realize they are traditions until we end up without them, so I loved reading your reflections! It is a pleasure to see the blogging award love continue! 🙂

You are so sweet Jaya, thank you! It’s’ funny that our love for stories and writing is kinda embedded in the memory of being original stories. And I was just thinking, I ought write out the stories my daddy used to tell me!

I think writing down stories from your youth is a lovely way to remember them!

I really ought write those stories down in a collection. Then I could read them to my kids–if I ever have any!
