AD-This post is sponsered, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This time last year, I was a new mom cradling a newborn baby boy in my arms, marvelling at how many major life events I had experienced in just one short year. As you might know, I married in the middle of the pandemic, of August 2020, and before my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary, we welcomed our son into world in 2021. I also suffered a major medical crisis early in my pregnancy, and all of this happened in the middle of a pandemic. Life was a little nuts at that time.
And planning an event was a challenge as well, especially a wedding as everything shut down and our venue more or less bailed on us. For real, we were basically told to postpone our wedding even though we didn’t want to, so ended up using another venue. I had to DIY a lot, and I also used a wedding planner to help me plan our wedding.
Celebrating Life Events
Getting married, having a baby, these are big—and important—life events, and ones you want to celebrate with family and friends. You want these events to be special and express who you are. Brides and new moms often do that through the themes and colours they chose for these events.
For instance, I knew I wanted pale pink roses in my bouquet, and that I wanted a cascade bouquet. Flowers are really expensive and I considered DIYing them, but in the end I knew I wouldn’t be happy unless I had really pretty pink and white floral arrangements with greenery. My wedding planner made this all happen at a reasonable price for me, and I was super grateful because all of these things—floral arrangements, wedding invitations and other things like the cake—are an important part of how we celebrate these major life events.
Although I was lucky enough to have my wedding day exactly as I wanted, certain details I would have liked to be given a little more attention, not because I didn’t like what I chose in the end, but because the pandemic made it hard to shop around and plan an event like the wedding.
Make Creating Invitations Easy with Basic Invite
If I had known about Basic Invite back in 2020, or even 2021, planning special events like a wedding and a baby shower would have been a lot easier. Basic Invite allows you to create wedding, bridal and baby shower invitations—plus more!—right on their website, and is one of the few websites that allows you to chose from a huge assortment of colours and preview it online instantly. I did a mock up of a thank you card for my son’s birthday, and let me tell you, it was super easy. I would have loved to have made customizable boy baby shower invitations for my own son’s birth using this site.
Honestly, the market has a lot of stuff out there for babies, but one of the things I find frustrating as a boy mom is that so much of it is geared towards girls, and I love that Basic Invite allows you to tailor things for your baby boy, or even keep it gender neutral. The invitations are adorable, I honestly would have a hard time choosing if I was organizing an event for Baby J. Which I kinda wish I was.
And as for wedding invitations, Basic Invite has you covered for all sorts of things—from the invite, to thank you cards and response forms, you can create it all without navigating all over the site. Plus, they have the option to have foil backing on your envelopes which is pretty amazing. Whether you want something elegant and tradtional or minimal and sleek, you have such a variety of options that you’re sure to create the invites that are perfect for your function.
Right now Basic Invite is offering a COUPON CODE for the month of Augst: 15FF51 so be sure to thank advantage of that and follow them on their socials, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
