10 of My Holiday Favourites–Holiday Tag

Posted on December 23, 2021December 17, 2021 by Giulia

I feel like I haven’t written enough Christmas content this year, but honestly…I’m feeling kind of burned out for content lately. The ideas are slow to arrive in my brain and slower to bang out with a four month old. Anyway, I got nominated for this tag and thought, this is fun! This is perfect! So here we go!

Thanks again to Katie from Dating Bitch for tagging me.

The Holiday Questions

What is your favourite holiday movie?

I actually talk about my favourite holiday movies in a post all about my favourite movies! Check it out.

What is the best way to spend a Saturday in December?

Like Katie said, curled up in bed with a good book. Even more perfect if it’s snowing out.

What’s Your favourite holiday song?

This is hard. I really like a lot. I guess I don’t just have one favourite. I really like Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Silent Night, Let it Snow, Silver and Gold as sung in the old Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer movie.

What do you typically eat for dinner during the holidays?

Depends. Christmas Eve is always fish as that’s our cultural tradition. Christmas Day we have a mix of traditional North American foods and Italian foods. We also do a big bacon and eggs Christmas breakfast with my husband’s family. So basically, we typically eat too much for Christmas.

What is your favourite Christmas cookie or holiday treat?

The ones my mom makes! These are traditional fig cookies from Italy. I also love gingerbread, so gingerbread cookies make the list as well.

What fictional character would you want the spend holidays with?

Like, any character? Christmas character? … Let’s combine and say Harry Potter because somehow he’s Christmas-y in my mind.

Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Dasher, Dancer, Donner and Blitzen. Comet and Cupid and… Prancer?…Oh, and naturally, Rudolph.

Am I right? Let me know.

Where would you like to visit during the holidays?

I’ve never given this idea a serious thoughts as I wouldn’t leave my family during the holidays…but London might be cool.

Do you like giving or receiving gifts better? (Be honest!)

Getting, obviously. I mean, giving is nice but trying to really find a meaningful gift that everyone you know will love is not something I like. It’s hard!! And I hate it when I can see disappointment on their faces so…getting.

What’s the best gift you ever received?

Okay, I have given this some serious thought. And while I do remember many gifts my husband has given me…and some that my parents have given me…I can’t decide if any were the best. And I’m also not sure when they gave me those gifts–was it Christmas? My birthday? I can’t always recall. So I decided to just pick a gift I really loved and was touched by instead that also is definitely one of the best gifts I ever received. And that is a lovely gold bracelet my hubby gave me on our one year anniversary. I really wasn’t expecting anything at all, so I was really surprised, and most especially that is was a gift of jewelry.

Merry Christmas

There you have it friends! My favourite things about Christmas…or at least, some. I hope you enjoyed learning a little more about me, which is what I love about a lot of these tags. Christmas is a special, if exhausting, time of year. I will always love this holiday as I love the lights, the snow, the special time with family and so much more. I hope there is something you enjoy this holiday as well.

I love that you’re also in the “getting gifts” camp! And I think it’s hilarious that you see harry potter as a christmas-y character!
