I’m so incredibly honoured to be nominated by Jaya from Nin Chronicles for the Awesome Blogger Commendation Award. This award seeks to commende bloggers who really engage others with their writing and posts. And while I have always sought to do exactly that, it’s truly touching to be nominated by Jaya, who I consider a true writer while I consider myself to be merely an aspiring writer of sorts. I always wanted to write novels when I was a child, to be a true writer. However, I went into teaching, and let my writing slip away over time. I always returned to writing however, and blogging certainly allows me to write but I still don’t really consider myself a writer. So when Jaya nominated me, I was blown away. Thank you Jaya, for loving what I write.

Youtube Video
I have recently fallen in love with BookTube. As someone who loves reading, and writing, it’s wonderful to see others who share these same passions and find out what they are reading and loving. Recently, my favourite BookTuber posted a video that talks about a writing satchel and I thought it was the perfect bag of all time. I wish this had been available when I was in my twenties, as I certainly would have adored and used it all the time.
Some Things You Don’t Know About Me
I share a lot of my life on here actually such as my rare genetic disease, the fact that I’m a new mom, my hobbies, my struggles with anxiety, even my pets. So it’s not easy to share some things that you don’t know about me. Not much comes immediately to mind.
One thing however, is that I do not have a lot of friends. I have a close childhood friend, some other friends from high school I am not as close with, and then work friends. Who I really only engage with at work. I don’t feel lonely however, as I am a homebody and love the friends I do have.
Here is something else you don’t know about me: I was a horrible math student. I struggled so much with the subject, and as a teacher, the concepts sometimes still make me pause and frown with puzzlement. I prefer teaching younger students luckily, and I do believe that my own struggles with math have helped me teach certain concepts in ways that are accessible to even the struggling math learner.
Photos and Links
I think I’d like to share my very first blog post in this post. I really poured myself into it, and if you want to know about me, then it’s a good post.
I’m also going to share a picture from my honeymoon post. The post is all about great places to eat, so check it out.
And the last photo I’m sharing is from an article I’m very proud of.
Jaya’s Questions
Why do you blog? Are you in it for the money, the learning experience, the fulfilment or something else?
An excellent question! I blog because I love sharing things with others, I love helping others. So ultimately, it’s for the fulfilment. However, I am working towards making this blog a source of income. I also blog because I love to write, and this is one way that I can write, and share that writing with others.
What film or show brings you through the times and why?
My comfort shows are Star Trek, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. I grew up with these shows, they taught me a lot and I continue to enjoy them even though I’ve seen them a thousand times. Also, Disney. Because all that song is just so wonderful.
Does where you live affect who you are as a person?
This is an interesting question! I’ve never thought of this to be honest. I think growing up in North America, where we don’t have as long a history, I’ve come to appreciate history and love the idea of Europe for it’s old churches and castles and even old stone fences. Growing up in a very multicultural city has also taught me a lot about the points of views of others. So perhaps it has affected me in some ways.
What kind of candy do you absolutely hate?
I don’t eat much candy, and really have no desire to sample candies either so I can’t really say. I’m more of a chocolate girl, though I do like toffee. Gummy candies however, tend to do zero for me. As does a lot of candy to be fair.

Lisa from Lisa’s Notebook. Lisa writes a lifestyle blog and I love how she shares her garden with us all of the time, which I totally love seeing. She shares reviews, beauty and fashion posts and a lot more as well and her posts are always make for lovely reading. I learned so much from her How to Create a Layered Look for Your Bed post and I will be putting those tips to work.
Her Digital Coffee. I really love this blog! It’s like a little coffee shop in your home. I really enjoy the book reviews, the wellness posts and just the whole feel of the blog. I loved learned more about clean beauty in her 4 Clean Beauty Brands I Trust post.
