What’s in My Jewelry Box

Posted on April 18, 2020April 18, 2020 by Giulia

I thought it might be fun to share with you what’s in my jewelry box. I really loved jewelry, and I do have a lot of jewelry. Of course, I’ve collected it over the years and recently I went through a lot of it and donated what I no longer wanted or liked. It’s also all nicely organized so I can see everything I have now a lot better.

I’m going to share with you a few favourite pieces but first I want to tell you about my love for jewelry, and what kind of jewelry I like best. Top of my list of favourite jewelry is gold and silver. I don’t necessarily care about designers, for me it’s more about quality and beauty. I like things that are simple, but I also love sparkling gems and statement pieces. And I really love antiques, especially art deco pieces.

But of course, since I love jewelry so much, I also have other styles I like. I love beaded crystal jewelry, and have several bracelets made from amethyst and other crystals. These are more boho in style. I really like Alex and Ani as well and have a few pieces by this company. I’d love to get more if I’m being honest.

Coral and gold necklace

This piece is one I coveted for a while before purchasing. I just love the look of this, it’s such an elegant piece, yet it’s fun too and I knew that this necklace I could pair with jeans and a tee or wear with a little black dress too. It’s a vintage piece–you certainly don’t see coral being sold these days. I really love the way the gold swirls and hugs each of the coral beads in the chain. It’s so pretty. I honestly don’t wear it enough but I intend to start wearing it more.

Silver Leaf Ring

I cannot help feeling boho when I wear this ring. It reminds me of elves in the forest, and magic and is so bold and simple at the same time. I like to pair this with other silver rings, usually ones that are more dainty and have a bit of sparkle to them. This ring I like to wear when I’m dressed in jeans or leggings and want to be causal and cozy, but still look sexy. I don’t know if the end result is sexy, but I certainly feel more chic with this ring on.

Art Deco Reverie Necklace

I love love this necklace. So sparkly, so simple and elegant and oh, I just can’t get over how pretty this necklace is and how amazing it looks on! I only just bought this necklace, and have not had a chance to wear it but I intend to wear the heck of this darling! This dates backs to the 1920s, is an art deco piece and I’m so happy I was able to find a necklace in this style that was affordable and beautiful. This cost about $120 Canadian dollars, but I’ve seen some for nearly $500 so this sparkler was not one I was going to pass up.

Floating Pearl Necklace

I’ve had this necklace for almost twenty years, and it remains one of my favourites, perhaps because it’s so timeless. I can wear this with anything and it always beautiful. It honestly speaks for itself, it’s just so lovely. This necklace was probably the first “real” piece I bought for myself. It’s white gold and pearls, and I remember my dad was so mad I paid what I paid even after he talked the seller down! But it was worth the money.

Snake Ring

My grandmother bought me this ring in the 90s, and I loved it then (I had admired hers for ages so she knew I would love it) and I love it now. It’s just sexy, plain and simple. A piece like this is timeless and people do comment on how much like this ring when I wear it.

Mom’s Vintage Bracelet

I have been in love with this bracelet since I was a little girl. I used to take it out of my mom’s jewelry box to look at and ignore the other pieces she had. I was in my thirties when she finally gave it to me for my own. This is so unique, and it’s a quality piece that is beautifully made. I love wearing this with dark wash jeans and a three quarter length sleeved shirt to really show it off, although it can be worn with much more formal clothes as well.

Parrot Earrings

These are fun earrings, and I love them! Some of my friends laugh at me when I wear them, but I am a bird lover and I had been wanting earrings like this for ages. I finally found them and they were super cheap and I was not leaving them behind. These are really perfect for summer, but I wear them any time of year.

Amethyst Pendant

I love this pendant. Amethyst is my favourite crystal, and I really like the shape of this piece. This I can wear with anything, it’s a statement piece yet it’s simple enough to wear with a more casual outfit too. Add a couple of plain simple silver necklaces for layering, and the look is complete. And one I am going to try since I just thought of it!

I hope you enjoyed this article; I totally loved showing off some of my favs. I’d love to do another one of these posts one day!
