Part of my reversion was beginning to stumble on Youtube channels with Christian content. It started with clickbait videos like “Why I Only Dresses” or “I Wore Only Dresses for One Month”, titles which got me wondering as I was seeking to change up my own style and fashion as a woman in her forties. And from there, I started digging into the Youtuber’s channel, seeing what other content she had that I might like and then seeking out videos on similar topics.

Disclaimer: Youtube did not cause my reversion. But it piqued my curiosity. And while Youtube didn’t cause my reversion, it has taught me a lot of things I did not know which helped me with re-connecting with my faith and opened the door for me.
Therefore, I think it’s important to share the channels that I really love and that really helped me fully understand what it means to be Christian and then, what it is to be a Catholic.
Home with Kelli
Home with Kelli was one of the first channels I found. Kelli talks about a lot of homemaking topics like her garden, preserving foods, how to build your home economy, thrifting and home decorating, what it is to be biblically female, how God provides and her wardrobe.
Now, I have to say…I didn’t agree with all of Kelli’s points of view. But coming from a Catholic background, I understood a lot of her points even though my mind rebelled against them. In fairness to Kelli, I do not believe she is Catholic and am not sure what denomination she ascribes to, if any. But I could tell she was coming from a Protestant view that was very different from the way Catholics think and understand Christ and his teachings. And I think it was a good thing that I found Kelli first because knowing that allowed me to take what she was saying with a grain of salt.
But it cracked open the door too. And the more I listened to her and other Christian homemakers, the more I started to seek out the Lord and my own faith.
Anna Dysert
I really love Anna’s channel. Anna is very honest and shares openly about her life prior to finding the Lord. She shares a lot about how to have a Christian marriage, how to live a Christian life, how being a Christian comes with a cost, how to live below the poverty line, ways to be frugal, how to dress modestly and how to be balanced in life. Something I love about her videos is how honest they are but also what really spoke to me was how they include so much scripture. Anna connects scripture back to our lives in a really meaningful way.
If I am not mistaken, Anna is non denominational, and I could immediately tell she wasn’t Catholic but again, I think that was helpful to opening my heart.
Kelsey Westman
Another channel I found was Kelsey Westman, who you can also find at Faithful Acres Farmhouse and I did not at first realize she was Catholic as her topics are largely about homemaking and homeschooling and slow living. You often see her cooking and baking and teaching in her videos as she shares her every day life as she discusses things like having patience, selfishness, answering God’s call, suffering and so much more. She does also share some bible study videos, which I think is newer content.
This is a channel that finally got me wondering: where are the Catholic homemakers? Kelsey is very good at teaching, but since I didn’t initially know she was Catholic, I wasn’t sure I getting a Catholic preceptive and that was something I was starting to want.

A Catholic Mom’s Life
I really owe so much to Heather and her channel. By the time I found Heather, I was seeking out Catholic content. I was connecting to God and wanted to find Catholic content and Heather’s channel is wonderful. She shares a lot about her life and family, shares church teachings, prays novenas and the rosary with you, shares tons about homemaking like how to put together a guest bedroom, how to create stress free spaces in your home, talks about the saints and how to approach seasons like Advent and Lent. Heather works tirelessly on her channel and has a lot of content, she’s been on Youtube for years now, so has shared so much about the Catholic faith.
I love Heather’s content so much, appreciate her warmness and non judgemental talks about the faith. I could honestly watch Heather’s channel every day because there is so much I still have to learn and the channel has so much.
As you can guess, the door was fully open by now and Heather’s channel really helped me walk fully through the door.
Fruit of the Femme
This is another channel I watch and enjoy. Elizabeth was a full blown feminist who has embraced a life entirely contrary to the way she used to live and think and believe. It’s interesting hearing her speak on topics because while I wouldn’t have exactly identified with feminism outside of women having equal rights and being able to work and pursue careers if they so wanted, because I wasn’t catechized well in the Catholic faith, I would have rebelled against traditional gender roles because they seemed outdated to me, and oppressive. So when Elizabeth talks about that, I recognize a lot of my own thinking and how that thinking was also in conflict with the life I wanted–which was one where I could be home with my little son! Seeing him grow, helping him learn and nurturing him instead of sending him to a daycare in his most formative years, that was truly important to me! It’s part of the reason I started this blog! Anyway, Hearing Elizabeth talk about this has really helped me (along with Kelli and Anna) unpack what it is to be a biblical wife and mother and how it is not at all oppressive.
Final Thoughts
Those are my five favourite Christian YouTube channels! If you are curious about what it is to be a Catholic, or about Jesus and Christianity in general, then please check them out. I have to say, I was really only seeking out homemaking ideas when I found Kelli’s channel. And long before I found some of the other channels, some of her points struck me as valid and helped me in approaching homemaking in a new and different way when I was struggling with keeping my home tidy and in order, and was tired a lot and needed something to help. But sometimes a small mindset shift can make a big difference, which was the case for me. It wasn’t until many months later that I found the other channels as I sought out other homemaking tips and ideas, and there were also other factors at play by then that helped me revert. So please do not be afraid to check out these channels solely for the homemaking ideas if that is all you are interested in, these are not preach-y channels and worthwhile no matter your spiritual journey.
