Cannot Breathe

Posted on February 22, 2022February 16, 2022 by Giulia

I cannot breathe today

I am deprived of light and air

I cannot breathe today

My mind is shut away tight.

A part of me is missing

A part of me is silent, weeping

I cannot breathe today

All my hopes and aspirations

Seem stuck

Stuck in that breath I cannot

Draw in-

I cannot breathe today

Something is misaligned

Whether stars or my diaphragm

Something is not right.

Oh, I hope this is fleeting

I hope my breath comes back

But lately I’ve been struggling

And my breathe seems dead

Dead

Dead

Is that too morbid?

How should I be,

When I cannot

Cannot breathe?

Oh Giulia, this is so sad. Was this a panic attack? Or an asthma attack? Your feelings of helplessness are so strong. Sending love x

Thanks Lisa, it’s actually about something else entirely, nothing nearly so dramatic.
